In order to address this problem, Dr. Carranza can surgically remove the damaged area and reattach the two healthy sides. This is a safe and effective treatment done in the office under local anesthesia. The healing time for an earlobe repair is generally 4 – 6 weeks. During the recovery period, clip-on earrings can be worn after about 1 – 2 weeks. There is no downtime. The ears can even be pierced again once sutures are removed.
